A Message from the Founder & Chairman

Agriculture today stands at a historic crossroads. While the first Green Revolution helped the world overcome hunger, it also left behind unintended consequences—soil degradation, biodiversity loss, rising input costs, environmental pollution, and growing vulnerability to climate change. The time has now come for a new agricultural paradigm—one that restores balance between productivity, ecology, and human well-being.

It was with this conviction that the Asian PGPR Society for Sustainable Agriculture was founded in 2009, with formal registration in both India and the United States. The vision was simple yet ambitious: to harness the power of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), endophytes, and plant microbiomes to drive a Secondary Green Revolution rooted in biology, sustainability, and farmer empowerment.

Over the past four decades, my academic, industrial, and entrepreneurial journey—across universities, research laboratories, and global agribusiness—has reinforced one fundamental truth: soil biology is the foundation of sustainable agriculture. Healthy soils lead to healthy plants, healthy food, healthy people, and a healthy planet. Microbes are not inputs; they are partners in agriculture.

The Asian PGPR Society was envisioned as a global scientific bridge—connecting cutting-edge research with real-world agricultural challenges. Today, it brings together scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, startups, extension professionals, students, and, most importantly, farmers (Annadatas) on a single collaborative platform. Through international conferences, national chapters, capacity-building programs, and farmer-centric initiatives such as the Maha Kisan Mela, the Society has consistently worked to ensure that science reaches the soil.

Our mission extends beyond research and publications. We are deeply committed to:

• Reducing agriculture's dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides
• Restoring soil biodiversity and ecosystem functionality
• Enhancing climate resilience and resource-use efficiency
• Empowering farmers with knowledge, confidence, and choice
• Aligning science with national priorities such as organic and natural farming, digital agriculture, and Vision 2047

I firmly believe that the future of agriculture will not be driven by chemistry alone, but by biology, innovation, collaboration, and ethics. PGPR, endophytes, and microbiome-based biosolutions are not optional alternatives—they are essential tools for building resilient, regenerative, and profitable farming systems.

As we look ahead, the Asian PGPR Society will continue to serve as a trusted global platform—championing scientific integrity, fostering partnerships, shaping policy dialogue, and honoring the wisdom and dignity of farmers. Together, we can build an agricultural future that nourishes both the soil and society.

I invite you to join us in this journey—of learning, collaboration, and transformation—towards a more sustainable and equitable world.

With warm regards and unwavering commitment,
